Kyona Levine Farmer

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Kyona Levine completed her Bachelor ofArts degree in English at the University of Florida and a minor in Theater. Sheimmediately went on to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing, while studying acting at the Harlem Theater Company and the New York School of Film & Television. In 2002, Kyona moved to Los Angeles, CA and pounded the pavement as an actress and writer. She performed in numerous plays and independent films and wrote several original projects. In June 2006, she co-starred in Layon Gray’s NAACP Theatre Award-winning play, The Girls of Summer in its off-Broadway debut in New York City.

 

Kyona produced and co-starred in the debut of SWEET EVALINA, which made its premiere at the Inglewood Playhouse in Los Angeles, CA. After re-locating back to Florida, Kyona produced and directed her play, SWEET EVALINA at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater.  She continued to direct and produce several original plays before joining the production team of Whitney Goin and Stephanie Moye Williams’ for the musical, Godspell, which premiered at Theatre Downtown in Orlando, FL.   Kyona went on to serve as Head of Theatre at a local school where she taught a full load of performance courses and directed close to sixteen shows in four years.  Kyona was ecstatic to get back to producing theatre independently through her company, SparKyL Entertainment, Inc.  Kyona produced and directed the musical, DreamGirls, at the Wayne Densch Theater in Sanford, FL and will be producing and directing her next show in the beginning of 2024.
